Half Moon
                            
                                           Uniquely designed mixed media sculpture in a modern style. The semi circle shaped spalted maple
                                           center sections combine with a glass top to form both decorative a sculpture and a functional stand
                                           for a small art object. The spalted maple halves also exhibit curl characteristics in the figure with
                                           a bookmatched appearance when viewed through the glass top. The spalted maple is in its natural
                                           state with a minimum of preparation in order to preserve its unique figure. Satin finished solid metal
                                           serves to join the center sections to each other and to the top and also to create legs for the
                                           piece. Meticulous attention is provided to both detail and finishing. The wood is not stained or
                                           dyed in any way. Finished with multiple coats of thinned shellac, polished and waxed.
